Karen Lynn Gorney, star of the movie “Saturday Night Fever” and “All My Children” joins the cast as Carrie in The Chesapeake Chicks, a brand-new comedy by Peter Zachari premiering at Theater for the New City. Gorney is joined by Rebecca Hoodwin as Rita, Margo Singaliese as Alice, Nora Falk as Carrie, Andrew Cuccaro as Matthew and Peter Coleman as The Officer.

REELZ Kicks Off Winter 2019 Slate with a Return to the 1970s with New Specials, New Series and Returning Series
REELZ today announced new original programming for winter 2019 including four new specials, three new series and three returning series. Highlighting the specials is the U.S. premiere of Saturday Night Fever: The Ultimate Disco Movie celebrating the 40th anniversary of the movie shot guerrilla style on the streets of Brooklyn with a BeeGees soundtrack and a fledgling 23-year-old John Travolta that became a cultural phenomenon. At the heart of '70s disco fever is one of the biggest voices that shaped contemporary music in Donna Summer and the new special Donna Summer: Disco Queenshows how she became the queen of disco ushering in a new era of sound that is still heard today. Donna Summer: Disco Queen leads a week packed with '70s themed programming starting Monday, January 14 with shows about the celebrities, music and movies that defined a generation.

Karen Lynn Gorney, star of the movie "Saturday Night Fever" and "All My Children" joins the cast as Eyphah in 'Knock It Off!,' a farce by writer/director Peter Zachari, premiering at Theater for the New City in May 2019. Gorney is joined by Peter Zachari as Thomas, Lori Funk as Marcia/Deidre, Joey Mirabile as Budd, Nora Falk as Cora, Scott Ahearn as Roy and Amandina Altomare as Bernadette. Additional casting for the show will be announced in the coming weeks.

A Holocaust Survivor Finds her Voice in FROM SILENCE by Anne Lucas
???????A cast of nine women led by Karen Lynn Gorney bring to life a story of the generational effects of the Holocaust in 'From Silence,' a new play by Anne Marilyn Lucas. It is widely acknowledged that even as Holocaust survivors are passing on, their trauma lives on in their children and grand children. This play explores how such trauma is inherited even without being spoken of, seemingly as a genetic or behavioral legacy. The piece then illustrates that speaking out, processing and understanding can bring healing to families. This world premiere will be presented by Theater for the New City from November 4 to 20, directed by Peter Zachari.

Rare Revival of ORPHEUS DESCENDING to Open at St. John's Lutheran Church This Spring
A rare revival of Orpheus Descending by Tennessee Williams will run for a limited engagement, April 23-May 14, at St. John's Lutheran Church, one of the oldest buildings in Greenwich Village. Directed by Austin Pendleton, the production features a 16-person cast lead by Irene Glezos, Thomas Beaudoin and Beth Bartley. Williams's modern version of the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice opened on Broadway in 1957 and was revived in 1989 in a celebrated production directed by Sir Peter Hall and starring Vanessa Redgrave. It has rarely, if ever, been produced in New York since.
