The Gift Theatre Announces 2020 Season
During this year's Season Release Bash at Park & Field, Artistic Director and Co-Founder Michael Patrick Thornton and Associate Artistic Director Emjoy Gavino announced The Gift Theatre's 2020 Season will include: a revival of Martin McDonagh's masterpiece THE PILLOWMAN; the Chicago premiere of Naomi Iizuka's drama AT THE VANISHING POINT, directed by Lavina Jadhwani; and the world premiere of Jennifer Rumberger's drama THE LOCUSTS, commissioned and developed by The Gift.

The O'Shaughnessy Explores India's Many Seasons
The O'Shaughnessy presents the premiere of Katha Dance Theatre's Ritusamhara - The Seasons, a dance celebrating the six seasons of India, and Baromase Tero Parbon, which also honors the seasons by depicting some of the 13 festivals within the year. The dynamic dance concert, on stage at 7:30pm on Friday-Saturday, March 2-3, incorporates authentic Kathak dance, as well as Asian Indian poetry, music and costumes of the highest artistic quality. In addition, a free preview matinee for community members and students will be held at 10:30am on Thursday, March 1.
North Zone Cultural Centre Presents Bodi Wala Tara, May 3
North Zone Cultural centre, Patiala in collaboration with Kala kritti Patiala (regd.) staged a Punjabi musical play 'Bodi Wala Tara' at Kalidasa Auditorium Virsa Viahar Kendra on Sunday 5-03-2017. The play witten by famous bollywood actor Rana Jang Bahadur which highlights the status of women in the society and relates it to the so called inauspicious sight of a Comet.
A Noise Within Sets Fall Readings
A Noise Within (ANW), the acclaimed classical repertory theatre, presents two free, staged readings this fall: Are You Now or Have You Ever Been by Eric Bentley, directed by Apollo Dukakis, on Wednesday, November 11 at 7 pm; and, on Monday, November 16 at 7PM, in partnership with East West Players, The Recognition of Shakuntala by Kalidasa, translated by W. J. Johnson, directed by Jonathan Munoz-Proulx. Both readings are performed as part of Words Within, A Noise Within's ongoing series of free play readings by resident artists. Internationally travelled and critically acclaimed Toronto-based dance company, inDANCE will be presenting the world premiere of The Book of Sandalwood, a novel and lyrical Bharatanatyam performance featuring a cast of twelve dancers and musicians. Commissioned by the Festival of South Asian Arts and Literature (FSALA), this stunning new work by award-winning dance-maker Hari Krishnan will be presented at the Al Green Theatre for oneperformance only today, May 16.
