L.A. Theatre Works' IN THE HEAT OF THE NIGHT Will be Available for Streaming

Beginning this Saturday, June 13, the L.A. Theatre Works audio theater recording of John Ball's In the Heat of the Night, adapted for the stage by Matt Pelfrey, will air on radio stations across the country and be available to stream free on the L.A. Theatre Works website.

L.A. Theatre Works celebrates its 40th anniversary in 2014-15 with a season of ten radio-theater productions, each recorded by a star-studded cast in front of a live audience for future radio broadcast, distribution on CD, digital download and online streaming. All performances take place at the 300-seat, acoustically vibrant James Bridges Theater located on the campus of UCLA in West Los Angeles. In addition, the company heads out on its 10th annual national tour.

Thomas Dunne (Brian Dennehy) was historically speaking the Chief Superintendent of the Dublin Metropolitan Police (DMP) and a Catholic loyal to the British crown, responsible for maintaining the established order in a time of revolution....hardly an easy position for one to find himself in 1932 when radical change came to Ireland in the guise of the Irish Free State. There was independence but it came at a high cost as Irish nationalists raged against each other in a bloody civil war.

Writers Theatre Extends THE LIAR Through 8/11; YELLOW MOON to Close 7/14

Lipuma and Artistic Director Michael Halberstam announce a two-week extension of the critically-acclaimed and wildly popular production of The Liar, adapted by David Ives from the classic by Corneille. The production now runs through runs August 11, 2013 atWriters Theatre, 325 Tudor Court, Glencoe, IL. David Greig's Yellow Moon, which began its run at Writers' on April 16, 2013, at 664 Vernon Ave, will close on July 14, 2013.
