Kaitlin Hopkins is an American actress, director, educator and entrepreneur known for her work in theater, film and television. Born on February 1, 1964, in New York City, she made her Broadway debut in 2002 in the play "Noises Off" and went on to appear in several other Broadway productions, including “How the Grinch Stole Christmas”, "Anything Goes”. She also appeared in the national tours of Disney’s “On The Record” and “Dirty Dancing”. She can be heard on several original cast albums including “Bare a pop opera”, “Bat Boy-The Musical”, “The Great American Trailer Park Musical” and Disneys “On The Record”.
In addition to her work on stage, Hopkins has also appeared in a number of films and television shows. She was a series regular on the Soap Opera "Another World" and has also appeared in over 50 other tv shows including "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” “Star Trek Voyager”, and "Rescue Me”. Her film credits include "The Nanny Diaries,” Confessions of a Shopaholic “,”How to Kill Your Neighbors Dog”.
Hopkins has received numerous awards and nominations for her work in theater, including a Drama Desk Award nomination for her performance in “Bat Boy-The Musical”. In 2009, she created the BFA Musical Theatre degree at Texas State University, running the program for 14 years. Hopkins also created and is the CEO of Fontus Dry Mouth Lozenges. As an educator, she was nominated for a Tony Award for Excellence in Teaching, and received a Presidential Award for Excellence in Teaching, and the Outstanding Leadership Award from Texas State University. In addition, she was recognized by the Broadway Dreams Foundation as an innovative voice in education and one of the Top 6 women educators in the performing arts. Hopkins also works as an arts consultant worldwide, specializing in institutional wellness.
