Smith Street Stage Announces Special Charity Performances
The award-winning Brooklyn theatre company Smith Street Stage is thrilled to announce that three of its performances of Richard III will be specially designated to donate all proceeds to local charities. The Company is focusing on charities that promote cultural tolerance and protect civil rights.

The celebrated Brooklyn theatre company, Smith Street Stage, will return to Carroll Park for its eighth year of presenting free outdoor Shakespeare-under-the-stars. This summer's production will be Richard III, playing from June 7 through 25. Admission is free. No tickets are required.

This marks the second year that the award-winning director of Off-Broadway hits La Lupe: My Life and My Destiny and DC-7 The Roberto Clemente Story steps in to helm the work. The play interweaves two holiday classics,The Nutcracker and A Christmas Carol, and creates a queer, Latino play about a gay couple who go on a psychedelic trip through their lives one Christmas Eve.
