BIO
Juson Williams is a native New Yorker, who stepped onto the performance scene at an early age. While still in his 20s, and as a singer, songwriter, dancer, actor, award winning choreographer, and director, Juson has already appeared in several important national touring musical theater Broadway productions, including the revival of The Wiz, Smokey Joe’s Café, Stormy Weather and It Ain’t Nothing But the Blues.
Currently, Juson is promoting his latest project entitled JUS’ON TIME ….his highly anticipated debut album. He couldn’t be more proud of this recording project which he worked on with renowned dance music producer Jorge Barreiro. Juson met Jorge jus’ on time, because at that time, he had so many internal feelings - good and bad, that he needed to get out of his head, off his chest, and on to a CD. In their collaboration, he and Jorge have consciously created songs and sounds that everyone - young, old, men, women, boys, girls, rich and poor – can relate to in their own lives. JUS’ON TIME, deals with relationships and feelings - sexual, loving, friendship, family, for the moment and forever. All but two of the songs are co-written by Juson and Jorge, including “Believe In You,” “It’s Been Awhile,” “Gettin’ On My Nerves,” “Your Smile,” “Dance WithYou,” “Distraction” and “Swaggalicious”.
Juson grew up listening to his musical inspirations: Luther Vandross, Whitney Houston, Al Green, Stevie Wonder, Bette Midler, Michael Jackson, Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald and the Isley Brothers, and he has committed his life to honing a career in virtually every aspects of the arts. On his journey to success, he continues to wow audiences each time he steps onto a stage, and he could not imagine doing anything else in life. He sleeps, breathes, and eats, yearning to share his God-given artistry; and while rolling with the punches, he is now ready to declare a new eruption.
Juson’s childhood was not easy, but it forced him to mature at an early age. His parents passed away when he was 10 years old. His grandmother took him in, but she would sadly pass away when he was 14. Then, continuing on with his aunt in Brooklyn, Juson matured to adulthood under her loving guidance. She is definitely his number one fan and is a major reason why he’s still on the path to pursue his own place in the performance world. Though many doors closed in Juson’s face, his passion, drive, FAITH, persistence, strong foundation, as well as, a major support system, kept him moving forward--leading him to bigger and better opportunities, including sharing the stage with the legendary Ms Gladys Knight, Leslie Uggams, N’SYNC and Melky Jean. On the recent revival of The Wiz, he worked alongside and still collaborates with Ashanti, Tichina Arnold, Dawn Lewis, Orlando Jones and the Tony Award Winning Lachanze. Now the timing is right for Juson …Jus’ On Time.
