Juliette founded School Of The Arts (SOTA) in 2005 to provide an outstanding training in acting, singing and dance to the community of Berkshire. SOTA Schools now run in Reading, Windsor, and Bracknell lead by Juliette’s hand picked team of Principals and qualified teachers who all have professional training, industry performance experience, and a passion for passing on their expert knowledge to the next generation.
With specialist experience in delivering coaching to children and young people who work professionally in theatre, film and television, Juliette’s 20 years of experience as a professional actress from the age of 11, coupled with a passion for coaching professional performers informs her work, bringing an understanding of the challenges faced by young performers training for and working in the industry.
Coaching Career
Following her professional performing career spanning twenty years, Juliette trained for several years in Educational Kinesiology and as a Voice Coach, qualifying in 2007 as an Estill Master Trainer in the Estill Voice Training System.
Juliette has taken a wide variety of training in the Accent Method, Overtone Singing with Michael Ormiston, Laryngeal Manipulation with Jacob Leibermann, Vocal Rehabilitation with Dane Chalfin, The Application of Voice Science to Pedagogy with Voice Scientist and Researcher Kerrie Orbert, Vocal Acoustics with Kenneth Bozeman, Advanced Vocal Anatomy with Dr Jenevora Williams & most recently received training in the evidence based Acceptance and Commitment Training (ACT) to treat Music Performance Anxiety (MPA).
In her private studio in Berkshire, Juliette works with singers and actors in all genre’s from rockers to screamers, belters to pop artists training students who have gone on to train as Soprano’s at Conservatories, Actors at Drama School and Musical Theatre professionals with a returning clientele working in those various industries.
Juliette has experience in voice rehabilitation and in 2005 founded the Reading Voice Clinic with Laryngologist Rogan Corbridge at the Capio Hospital, which ran for several years.
Juliette lectured in Performing Arts at the Henley College for 8 years, was Head of Voice at Reading Theatre College (now Read College) for 8 years and is currently Head of Voice & Musical Theatre at Kingsclere Performing Arts College.
Juliette is a Mental Health First-Aider certified by MHFA England, equipped to provide initial support and signposting to pupils, students and clients who may be experiencing mental health issues.
Presenter & Host
Juliette presents the VocalScope podcast, a listening experience curated especially for Vocal Coaches, Singing Teachers and professional voice users interested in voice science, research and performance.
Juliette hosts The VocalScope Book Club for Singing Teachers, Vocal Coaches, Voice Practitioners & Performers (with exclusive access to the Author of the Month!) and Juliette also hosts the Short Courses Programme for the Voice Study Centre, which offers a wide range of short courses and workshops lead by international voice practitioners, authors and researchers.

– Dialogue Coach on the movie ‘Molly Moon – the incredible hypnotist’. The film stars Raffey Cassidy, Dominic Monaghan, Emily Watson, Joan Collins and Celia Imrie.

– Choreographer on the television series ‘Island’ directed by Cameron McCallister, which she also starred in.
– Juliette co-directed and choreographed Billy Elliot the Musical, which was produced by her company, Golden Ratio, a Berkshire Performance Company in association with Billy Youth Theatre and South Hill Park. The production played at the Wilde Theatre, Bracknell in June 2011, featuring a 40 strong cast of young talent from across Berkshire with a youth orchestra especially formed for the production. The Company were also selected by the West End Creative Team to perform in the Billy Elliot Regional Gala and West End Gala performances.
Juliette’s Performing Career
Juliette trained at Redroofs Theatre School and worked professionally as an actress from the age of 11 appearing in over 200 television, film and theatre productions.
Theatre
Juliette debuted in the Original Cast of Les Miserables, currently the ‘World’s Longest Running Musical’ which makes her feel rather old.
Best known on stage for creating the lead role of Bertrande de Rols, playing opposite Iain Glen, in the original West End cast of Martin Guerre, produced by Cameron Mackintosh (Prince Edward Theatre) which won the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Musical
Juliette’s acting theatre credits include Titania in A Misummer Night’s Dream (Derby Playhouse), Kelly in Dummy Run, a one woman play (Orange Tree, Richmond), Miranda in The
Tempest (Edinburgh) and a hugely successful run as Klara in Wedekind’s lost play Musik (Theatre Royal, Plymouth).
Other musical theatre roles include Catherine in a specially revised version of Pippin at the Bridewell and a Stephen Shwartz revue Shwartz It All About? (Finborough Theatre). Juliette also had the privilege of creating the role of Virginia opposite Steve Balsamo in the world premiere of Eric Wolfson’s Poe at Abbey Road Recording Studios and playing opposite Bertie Carvel and Razza Jaffrey in a gala performance Victory at the Donmar Warehouse.
Film
Juliette’s film career began when she was directed by Martin Scorsese as Christ’s Guardian Angel in the controversial The Last Temptation Of Christ. She went on to star opposite Charlie Sheen in the adventure epic Courage Mountain, produced by Michael & Joel Douglas.
Later, Juliette, played Mary in Mechant Garcon, Ali in Small Time Obsession directed by Piotr Skopiak and Blanche in Two Nudes Bathing – a Cannes Film Festival Jury Award Winner, written and directed by John Boorman.
TV
On television, Juliette’s roles include playing Alicia in the costume drama Lady Audley’s Secret (Carlton), Helene in the epic series Monsignor Renard with the late John Thaw (Carlton), Esme in the popular Shine On Harvey Moon (Witzend) and Fern in the thriller Murder In Mind (BBC Screen One) with Charlotte Rampling and Wall Of Silence opposite Timothy Busfield. She also played Contessina D’Medici in Seasons Of Giants (C4) about the life of artist Michealangelo and Godith in the medieval series Brother Cadfael with Derek Jacobi (ITV).
