Julian Sands is an English actor known for his work on stage, film, and television. He was born on January 4, 1958, in Otley, West Riding of Yorkshire, England. Sands attended the Central School of Speech and Drama in London and began his acting career in the late 1970s.
Sands' early stage work includes performances in productions of "A Midsummer Night's Dream" and "The Seagull." He made his Broadway debut in 1984 in the play "Preludes," which was followed by a role in the 1985 production of "Breaking the Code." Sands also appeared in the 1995 Broadway revival of "The Tempest," playing the role of Ferdinand.
In addition to his stage work, Sands has appeared in numerous films throughout his career. He gained recognition for his role in the 1985 film "A Room with a View," which earned him a nomination for a BAFTA Award for Best Supporting Actor.
