Julia Noulin-Merat

Julia Noulin-Mérat (set designer) is a triple American, Canadian and French citizen. She is the principal designer at Noulin-Mérat Studio, a young intrepid NYC design firm that has designed over a 150 productions. Her theatre work includes Moonchildren, Dark Rapture, The Argument, The Tutors with the Attic Theater; Penelope of Ithaca, November, Rocky Horror Show with The Hangar Theatre; These Seven Sicknesses, King Lear, Lesser Mercies, Arok of Java, The Further Adventures of Hedda Gabler with Exit, Pursued by a Bear, and the NY Times’ critic pick These Seven Sicknesses with the Flea Theatre. Previous TYA designs include Pinkalicious, Click Clack Moo at Orlando Rep; Cucumber Phil, Androcles and the Lion at the Hangar Theatre; Haunted Experience at the Bronx Zoo and the NYC Aquarium. Her opera work includes Madama Butterfly with El Paso Opera and Opera New Jersey; Cosi Fan Tutte, Lucia di Lammermoor with Commonwealth Opera; Bovinus Rex, Say It Ain’t So Joe, Heart of a Dog, Loose Wet Perforated with Guerilla Opera; Xerxes with the Academy of Music; The Telephone, LRRH with Opera Boston and Carmen with Buck Hill Skytop Music Festival. Her television work includes Guiding Light (CBS) and Inside the Actors Studio: Jim Carrey (Bravo).
