Roundabout Theatre Company Will Host Virtual Industry Event- Opening Stage Doors
From Dec. 7-9, Roundabout Theatre Company, with support from The National Endowment for the Arts will host Opening Stage Doors, the first-of-its-kind virtual convening to share tools and innovations in job training, mentorship, and job placement, with the goal of helping remove traditional barriers to off-stage performing-arts jobs.

Broadway League's Charlotte St. Martin and Roundabout's Julia Levy Included in Mayor De Blasio's Arts, Culture & Entertainment Advisory Council
Today, Mayor Bill de Blasio appointed members to the following Sector Advisory Councils: Labor and Workforce; Large Business; Small Business; and Arts, Culture, and Entertainment. Sector Advisory Councils will inform the Administration's efforts to restart the economy and city life. The councils will serve as critical links to disseminate information about re-opening and provide guidance to shape the City's response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Membership of the councils on Faith, Construction and Real Estate, Non-Profits and Social Services, Public Health and Healthcare, Education and Vocational Training, and Surface Transportation will be announced in the coming days.
MADE IN NY to Host 'Business of Theater' Talk in April
The Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment (MOME) today announced a line-up of five new 'Made in NY' Talks, which will begin Tuesday, March 10th. The Spring 2020 series brings together an eclectic group of industry leaders ready to share information with New Yorkers looking to work in journalism, theater, television, music and more. The series is presented in partnership with the Center for Communication.

Sing for Hope will celebrate the fifth anniversary of its legendary community arts program, The Sing for Hope Pianos, with a public unveiling of all 50 pianos on June 6(th) at 28 Liberty Plaza in New York City. The event will feature Tony Award-winning actress Lea Salonga, Tony Award- and Drama Desk-nominee Daphne Rubin-Vega, former Late Night with David Letterman bandleader Paul Shaffer, the dynamic Anderson & Roe Piano Duo, cast members from On Site Opera's acclaimed Figaro Trilogy, saxophonist/composer Ted Nash, singer/songwriter Pete Muller, and other stars of the New York music scene, along with student musicians from Sing for Hope's programs.
Roundabout & Columbia University Will Team Up for Columbia@Roundabout
Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director) and Columbia University School of the Arts (Carol Becker, Dean of Faculty) have just announced Columbia@Roundabout, an initiative aimed at educating and developing the next generation of playwrights and theatre administrators, as both institutions celebrate their 50th anniversaries. No other collaborative partnership in the New York area brings together an esteemed Ivy League MFA program with a Tony Award- winning not-for-profit theatre. The initiative is made possible by a grant from the Tow Foundation.

Executive Producer of Documentary 'Revelations of the Mayans 2012 and Beyond' Wins Arbitration
3Much has been written about financier and producer Elisabeth Thieriot's battles with Raul Julia-Levy over the ownership of a documentary about the Mayans. The war is now over and the victory has gone to Thieriot as the result of an International Film and Television Association (IFTA) arbitration award. IFTA Arbitrator Gerald Phillips, after a thorough review of all the documentary and testimonial evidence presented during the arbitration proceeding, has awarded Thieriot 'the right, title and interest in all footage' and ruled that Levy 'is not to possess or exploit' the footage in any way.
