KING LEAR Announced At Beck Center For The Arts
Beck Center for the Arts is pleased to produce William Shakespeare's King Lear, directed by regional talent Eric Schmiedl. This limited engagement runs May 31 to June 30 in the Studio Theater. This intimate performance space puts the audience in the middle of this regal family drama. Show times are 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 3 p.m. Sundays. Cesear's Forum has rescheduled a suspended production of Edward Albee's Marriage Play for late spring, at Kennedy's Down Under, PlayhouseSquare, Cleveland, Ohio, April 17th through May 23rd. Mr. Albee, a three time Pulitzer prize-winning playwright and preeminent American dramatist, whose works include Who's Afraid Of Virginia Woolf?, A Delicate Balance, Three Tall Women and The Goat, or Who Is Sylvia?, wrote Marriage Play in 1987 during a period of disfavor from New York producers and critics. First presented in Vienna, the play was produced at New York's Signature Theatre in 1993 and rediscovered at London's National Theatre in 2001.
