Judy Garey was stage name for Julia Veronica Garilis Alley. She was living in Newark, N.J., when she saw an ad in a New York newspaper about dancing auditions for Alan K. Foster Girls. She was chosen and at that time had never had a dancing lesson. She traveled in shows throughout the United States. With the Alan K. Foster Girls, she also was in Cocoanuts, the first talking film with the Marx Brothers.
She continued dancing until 1931 when she married Charles Rives Alley Jr. March 25, 1935. She died Oct. 14, 1985 in Alexandria, Va.
