Jessie Mueller Joins Tom Hanks & More in Steven Spielberg's THE POST

Tony Award winner Jessie Mueller (BEAUTIFUL: THE CAROLE KING STORY) is set to make her feature film debut in Steven Spielberg's THE POST. The actress will join fellow Broadway alum Tom Hanks, Meryl Streep, Carrie Coon, Sarah Paulson, Tracy Letts in the project.
SAGA OF A PRINCESS is Released

Over one thousand years ago, the Viking Princess Efanda founded the Russian nation with her husband Prince Rurik during the Viking era. While Rurik has been written about in the history books and a large monument was erected to honor him in Novgorod, Russia, Princess Efanda has not gotten any recognition-history has ignored her. Children's author Judith Martin has a problem with this and is campaigning to have Russian President Vladimir Putin build a monument in Russia to honor the princess.

The 5th Avenue Theatre has announced complete casting for Hairspray in Concert, featuring some of Seattle's favorite musical theatre stars and the powerful voices of the 250-member Seattle Men's Chorus. Celebrating the 10th anniversary of Hairspray's 2002 Broadway debut, this unique concert event will play for six very special performances of glorious and irreverent John Waters-inspired wackiness (Friday-Sunday, June 20-23). In 2002, Hairspray was The 5th Avenue Theatre's first world premiere musical to head for Broadway where it won the 2003 Tony Award for Best Musical and launched The 5th's unprecedented track record for sending new works to New York. Now the smash hit musical comes home, as audiences have never seen it before.

As we approach the end of 2012 Broadway Dance World would like to pay tribute to those who passed away this year. Besides dancers they were teachers, musicians, scene designers, composers, administrators, writers, producers, scene designers and board members. Some were very prominent, others had fleeting careers. It does not make a difference. They gave of themselves and for that alone we owe them our gratitude.
