El Inbal Y El Gobierno De Tlaxcala Impulsan Las Licenciaturas En Educación Musical Y Artes
La Secretaría de Cultura del Gobierno de México, a través del Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes y Literatura (Inbal), y el gobierno del estado de Tlaxcala, a través de su Secretaría de Cultura, firmaron hoy dos convenios para la creación de la Licenciatura de Música y la Escuela de Arte Textil, en la Escuela de Música del Estado de Tlaxcala (EMET) y de la Escuela de Artes (Edart), respectivamente.

La Secretaría de Cultura del Gobierno de México, a través del Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes y Literatura (INBAL), y el Instituto Tlaxcalteca de la Cultura (ITC) signaron un convenio de colaboración que contempla la atención al patrimonio artístico -en el marco del centenario del muralismo y del centenario del artista Desiderio Hernández Xochitiotzin-, la profesionalización del sector artístico del estado, especialmente de la música y las artes visuales; la recuperación de la formación en textiles, así como el fortalecimiento de los circuitos artísticos.
North/South Consonance's Season Kicks Off November 11
North/South Consonance, Inc. kicks off its 39th consecutive season of free-admission concerts with two exciting events part of the Latin American Cultural Week Celebration in New York City sponsored by PAMAR (Pan American Musical Art Research, Inc.)
On Sunday afternoon November 11, the North/South Chamber Orchestra will perform four compositions by Max Lifchitz - the ensemble's founder and director. A native of Mexico City, Mr. Lifchitz has resided in New York City since 1966 and has toured as composer and performer throughout the Americas, Europe and the US. This event will start at 3 PM and end approximately at 4:30 PM. It will be held at the auditorium of Christ and St. Stephen's Church (120 West 69th Street) in Manhattan.
Heavy Hitters Join Talkbacks for The Platform Group's ROUGHLY SPEAKING
Shara Ashley Zeiger's Roughly Speaking, a new play with rap based on over 200 interviews with New York City's homeless, has announced the initial slate of participants for its after-show talkbacks. A line-up which includes experts on the homeless, a member of the New York State Assembly, TED Talk Presenters, artists and members of the Roughly Speaking cast and creative team. Scheduled to take place after every Wednesday and Sunday performance, the first such discussion will be held on Wednesday, November 2.
