Signature Theatre Launches Campaign to Name Part of 42nd Street After Founder Jim Houghton

Signature Theatre has begun a campaign to co-name a portion of 42nd Street 'Jim Houghton Way', in honor of the theatre's founder.

Just last night, the Signature Theatre held its Annual Gala at The Pershing Square Signature Center (located at 480 West 42nd Street between 9th & 10th Avenues). The event celebrated the late Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Edward Albee and honored the passionate and visionary leadership of former President of the Signature Board of Trustees, Michael Rauch.

Honoring his work and dedication to the Off-Broadway community, numerous Off-Broadway theatres will dim their lights on Thursday at 7:45PM, in memory of theatre legend James (Jim) Houghton, who died on August 2nd at the age of 57.
