BIO

Joshua is a New York City based director, and recipient of the New York Independent Theatre Person of the Year Award. His off-Broadway productions of Bent and Woyzeck were met with critical and box office acclaim, which included him in the book Theatre World, citing all major New York productions for the season .

This past summer Joshua received an international Fellowship from the Stage Directors and Choreographers Union for up and coming directors across the globe. Recent work includes Spring Awakening (Theatre UCF), The Three Musketeers (Denver Center Theatre, Assistant Director), Fallen Angels (Pasadena Playhouse, Assistant Director & Dramaturg), Chasing George Washington (Orlando Repertory Theatre, regional premiere), Bigger than I (New York International Fringe Festival, world premiere), A Fistful of Bees (Aurora Fox Arts Center, world premiere), Next to Normal (Fordham University, regional premiere), Little Shop of Horrors (St. John's University), and The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Stevens College).

Joshua is co-founder and resident director of Counting Squares Theatre, a member of the Dramatists Guild's Director/Dramatist Exchange, a reviewer for New York Theatre, an adjudicator for the New York Innovative Theatre Awards, and a proud Associate Member of SDC.

Consistently working across theatrical disciplines, Joshua has directed classics, new works (plays and musicals), contemporary works, dramas, comedies and farce. It continues to be his goal to create theatre that is relevant and accessible.

After each reading, audiences are invited to participate in talkbacks to assist in the development of the newly-presented works, many of which go on to off-Broadway, Broadway, or regional engagements.

Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation Awards Two Directing Fellowships

Director Joshua Chase Gold has been selected to be the 2016 SDCF Charles Abbott Fellow. He will be assisting Charles Abbott on his production of South Pacific at Walnut Street Theatre in Philadelphia, PA.
Anna Carol to Bring AUNT NONA to Catskill's Bridge Street Theatre

Playwright/Performer Anna Carol brings her hilarious North Dakotan alter ego to the Bridge Street Theatre in Catskill for three performances only, April 29, 30, and May 1 in "An Evening with Aunt Nona". Directed by Joshua Chase Gold, Aunt Nona first appeared in 2014 at the University of Central Florida, then toured the Midwest before her New York City debut at the United Solo Festival in September of 2015.
