Submissions Now Open For Live & In Color's 2024 Season
Live & In Color is accepting submissions for their 2024 Fall retreat at the Bingham Camp. Playwrights, composers, and lyricists of color and underrepresented communities can submit their new musicals with a 4-actor cast limit. Selected submissions will receive a $1,000 stipend, housing, meals, and travel.
Live & In Color Announces Raquel Almazan As The Recipient Of The 2023 June Bingham New Playwright Commission
The June Bingham New Playwright Commission honors the legacy of the late artist and playwright, June Bingham, by providing support to a new generation of early-career women/femme and/or non-binary storytellers as they seek to create work that manifests change in the world. Director and Arts Leader, Abigail Grubb, serves as the Program's Director and Co-Founder alongside Live & In Color's Artistic Director and June Bingham's nephew, Devanand Janki.

Pack your bags! Live & In Color is taking a tour of the artists and pieces pushing the industry toward equity and inclusion. The evening will feature a roadmap of songs from Live & In Color's artistic community and will serve as a fundraiser to support the company's continued mission to develop commercially bound plays and musicals created by artists who exist within the intersections of underrepresented identities and center inclusion.

Head over to the Green Room 42 on 6/02 to celebrate the work of Live & In Color and all the artists that have come through their doors! The fundraiser will be hosted by Tony Award Winner BD Wong and will feature songs from all the different pieces Live & In Color has created throughout the years. This concert will be a fundraiser to help support the company's mission to develop talent with the goal of diversity and inclusion at its core.
The Hangar Theatre Announces First Ever Hangar Flight Test
The Hangar Theatre has announced the first ever Hangar Flight Test, a series of concert stagings of original musicals in development. The 2022 series will consist of two workshop productions which Hangar audiences will be among the first to experience. Writers and artistic teams will invite audiences to give feedback and become part of the development process as they prepare their scripts and scores for full scale production.
Live And In Color To Present Staged Reading Of New Musical WITHIN ELSEWHERE
After 19 months of inventive online programming that included world premiere works by established and emerging playwrights, a music video, a holiday show, and weekly roundtable series, BIPOC new works incubator Live and In Color (L&IC) thrilled to present a live staged reading of “Within Elsewhere” a new musical with a book by Joshua Betancourt and music and lyrics by Trent Jeffords.

The winning musical submission will have a two-week workshop this fall at The Bingham Camp in Salem, Connecticut culminating in a staged presentation to an invited audience.
Emerson College's First Live Virtual Musical, THIS GOLDEN DAY Debuts
Emerson College, in cooperation with Live & In Color, will debut its first live, virtual, new musical, 'This Golden Day,' one of few, if any, higher education performing arts entities executing a live musical online. The musical explores the concept of 'The Golden Rule' and building community through various religions and diverse perspectives.
