BIO

Joshlyn Camille, is thirteen years of age. A spirit filled child of God, her interests include singing, acting, modeling, figure skating, tap and apparel design.


Joshlyn is a former member of the Soul Children of Chicago. In 2012 she appeared as Little Inez in Jeff Nominated Hairspray at Drury Lane, Oakbrook, IL.

She is currently appearing in the musical Clara as young Clara Ward.

She has been awarded "Most Talented Kid Under 12 years at the Chicago Music Awards. She has been featured on NBC-5 WMAQ, CBS-2 WBBM, the Chicago Defender Newspaper, WYCA 102.3 FM and WKKC 89.3 FM. She had the opportunity to appear in a Raymond Thomas film- "Son of America" and a Joel Kapity film, "Dreams the Movie", featuring Mel Jackson, Angie Stone, Vickie Winans and Terri Vaughn.

She has previously opened for Grammy Award winner, Pastor Darius Brooks. Joshlyn had the privilege of singing backup and lead for Rev. Jessy Dixon at the Chicago Bronzeville Festival.

Joshlyn has had the privilege of gracing the stage with some Gospel greats Dr. Albertina Walker and Jessy Dixon and local favorites DeAndre Patterson & Sis. Queenie Lennox.

Musical Theater Prodigy Joshlyn Camille Lomax to be Honored as 'Rising Star'

The Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events (DCASE) and Allstate Insurance Company announced today that they will present the second 'Rising Star' youth award to Joshlyn Camille Lomax during the third-annual Fifth Star Awards on Wednesday, September 14 at 7pm-at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion in Millennium Park. The award celebrates the achievements of Chicago youth demonstrating promise and career aspirations in the arts. Lomax, a student at CPS' Chicago Academy for the Arts (ChiArts), was selected from a pool of nominees submitted by the public and several Chicago high school arts programs.
