QUICKIE FEST, The One-Minute Movie Festival, Announces Special Jury, Film Slate
Quickie Fest 7, the one-minute movie festival, has announced its roster of Special Jury members and short film slate for its seventh incarnation, which will take place this Saturday, June 29th at 7:00PM at NYC's SVA Theatre. The event will kick off with beer from Brooklyn's Six Point Brewing (included with every ticket) followed by back-to-back short films, all under a minute long. The evening will conclude with the jury awards.

The Alliance/Kendeda National Graduate Playwriting Competition continues to spotlight the best emerging playwrights with a full production for the competition winner and staged readings for four competition finalists. 59E59 Theaters (Elysabeth Kleinhans, Artistic Director; Peter Tear, Executive Producer; Brian Beirne, Managing Director) is thrilled to welcome Adjusted Realists with the US premiere of GLUTEN! written by Stephen Kaliski and directed by Mr. Kaliski and Amanda Holston. GLUTEN! begins performances on Thursday, November 19 for a limited engagement through Saturday, December 5. Press opening is Tuesday, November 24 at 7:30 PM. The performance schedule is Tuesday - Thursday at 7:30 PM; Friday at 8:30 PM; Saturday at 2:30 PM & 8:30 PM; and Sunday at 3:30 PM. PlayMakers Repertory Company in Chapel Hill has commissioned a world-premiere adaptation of Imaginary Invalid, the final play written by Moliere. The story follows Argan, a hopeless hypochondriac, as he surrounds himself with people who will cater to his ridiculous medical delusions of chronic illness. Argan is also facing a second wife who's after his money and a daughter named Angel who wants to marry for love, and not for his personal convenience.
