BWW Review: Ammons, Krebs Lead Entertaining SEVEN BRIDES FOR SEVEN BROTHERS at Springhouse
Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, the 1982 stage musical borne of the 1954 film treatment based on a story by Stephen Vincent Benet, doesn't hold up as well in 2019 as many classic musical theater titles a?" what with its sexist storyline, ersatz score that longs to remind us of something by Rodgers and Hammerstein, and its meandering plot a?" but make no mistake about it: The production of Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, now onstage through this weekend at Smyrna's Springhouse Theatre Company is mighty entertaining, thanks to Paula K. Parker's talented cast who bring the show to life with vigor and commitment.

Noho Arts Center's World Premiere of SPIES ARE FOREVER Set for Today
His name is Mega, Curt Mega. He's America's greatest superspy, one of a very few individuals called upon to save the planet on a regular basis while plunging into a world of danger, fast cars and lovely women (or is it lovely cars and fast women?). While on one particularly dangerous mission in 1959, he apparently causes the death of his British counterpart and best friend through carelessness. Mega subsequently sinks into an alcoholic decline.

BWW Reviews: STARKID's APOCALYPTOUR at The Neptune Theatre
I had a very confusing night last night. I went to go catch the latest tour offering from musical theater parodists Team StarKid with their "Apocalyptour" at the Neptune Theatre. My first moment of confusion was when I arrived an hour before the show and the line was already down the block and around the corner. I didn't realize how much of a cult following they have especially with the younger crowd as the majority of the crowd was still in their teens. But the place was packed! Then, once the show started, came the rest of my confusion as apparently seeing a Team StarKid show requires loads of advanced knowledge as there's no way you could hear any lyrics over the band not to mention the screaming fans who sounded as though they were witnessing the second coming of The Beatles.
