Utah Symphony Welcomes Three New Violinists
The Utah Symphony, one of only 15 full-time, 52-week symphony orchestras in the United States, added several new faces to the orchestra at the start of the 2017-18 season, including three violin positions resulting from national auditions held in the spring of 2017.
Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia Announces 2017-18 Season at the Kimmel Center
A founding resident company of The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, The Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia (COP) announces its 2017-2018 Season. From September 2017 through May 2018, the Chamber Orchestra will perform six programs as part of its subscription series. All six concert pairs will be performed in the Kimmel Center's intimate Perelman Theater.

The Utah Symphony's 2016-17 season begins this September with two Beethoven Piano Concerti in two weekends featuring award-winning pianists Jonathan Biss and Emanuel Ax. Segerstrom Center to Welcome Dover Quartet in March
Segerstrom Center presents the Dover Quartet on Thursday, March 17 at 8 p.m. in Samueli Theater. The New Yorker recently dubbed the Dover Quartet "the young American string quartet of the moment," and The Strad raved that the quartet is "already pulling away from their peers with their exceptional interpretive maturity, tonal refinement and taut ensemble." For its Center debut, the Quartet will perform Mozart's String Quartet No. 17 in B-flat Major, K. 458; the Center premiere performance of French composer Dutilleux's "Ainsi la nuit" (1976) and Shostakovich's Quartet No. 2 in A Major, Op. 68. A free Preview Talk with musicologist and author Herbert Glass will take place at 7:15 p.m.
