American Classical Orchestra Announces 2022-23 Season
The American Classical Orchestra (ACO), New York City’s leading period instrument orchestra, has announced its 2022-23 season of four orchestral concerts conducted by Founder and Artistic Director Thomas Crawford, beginning on Thursday, September 22, with the first of three performances at Alice Tully Hall, and continuing through May 18, 2023. The soloists will include soprano Yulan Piao, mezzo-soprano Heather Petrie, tenor Lawrence Jones, bass Joseph Charles Beutel, pianist Petra Somlai, and violinist Rachell Ellen Wong.
WHITE WITCH Will Be Performed at the Bloomsbury Theatre in September
Written by pioneering Jamaican playwright Barry Reckford, the first Black Briton to have a play staged at the Royal Court, White Witch tells the historical story of a white woman who falls in love with a Black man, and of the terrible consequences of their forbidden affair. Set around Rose Hall, Jamaica against the backdrop of the 18th century slave trade, the play follows Annie Palmer, who has been married off to a plantation owner following her scandalous affair with a Black man.

Featuring a group of travelers who find themselves thrown together on a Middle Eastern expedition, the 'Queen of Crime' offers a unique take on the classic murder mystery, where characters' motivations are suspect and relationships may not be what they seem. First performed at the Piccadilly Theatre in London on March 31, 1945, APPOINTMENT WITH DEATH remains fresh and exciting today.
