The annual Philadelphia Fringe Festival and works of theatre are well known partners. Cannonball, the largest hub of the Philadelphia Fringe has an explosion of theatre throughout the entire month of September.

Review: A Singular Sensation Returns to Philadelphia Opera with the O22 Festival

O22, as Opera Philadelphia's festival was called this year, wasn’t exactly “something old, something new” but more like big fat sandwich cookie. On one side, there was a kind of “traditional” contemporary opera, Hosokawa’s THE RAVEN , a big filling of Rossini’s OTELLO opera seria in the middle, and finished with the Little-Waldman BLACK LODGE, a rock opera that was half ear-blasting concert performed live, half film.

Tribe Of Fools Tackles The Eagles Super Bowl Run With Fringe Festival World Premiere

Tribe of Fools has made a name for itself creating physically daring, smart and heartfelt theatre during the Philadelphia Fringe Festival that tackles the City of Brotherly Love. In the past, they have created work related to the Mummers, the Parking Authority, and more all with a sharp eye on the issues that impact the world today. Their 2018 Philadelphia Fringe Festival World Premiere is no exception. This year the highly physical company is taking on the Philadelphia Eagles Super Bowl run and asking, "What makes a fan?" with the World Premiere of Fly Eagles Fly. This comedy about the Philly Football Fan Frenzy runs September 6-22 at the Louis Bluver Theatre at the Drake, 302 S Hicks St. Tickets cost $15-$25 and are available online at www.fringearts.com or at the festival box office. One of Philadelphia's most athletic theatre companies is set to debut a new work that deals with technology and loneliness at the 2017 Philadelphia Fringe Festival. Tribe of Fools is set to present its latest work Fishtown September 8-25 at The Louis Bluver Theatre at the Drake, 302 South Hicks Street.

The work of Jean-Baptiste Poquelin, better known to us as Moliere, returns to the Rose Footprint Theatre (the Company produced Tartuffe on the Footprint last season) with a new adaptation of one of his sauciest plays, Les Faux Pas: or The Counter Plots. Director Jenna Ware, who also adapted the piece, pulls out all of the stops with this riotously funny play. Featuring a cast of 11 new-comers and Company favorites Jenne Jadow and Dana Harrison Les Faux Pas: or The Counter Plots kicks off the Bankside Festival. Press Opening is tonight, July 6 at 5:30PM.
