 Looking ahead to the 51st season and beyond, the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra  announced its 2024/25 season line-up, presenting 30 mainstage programmes with internationally renowned conductors and soloists, the launch of HK Phil String Instruments Circle, the remastering programme of its performances with Spatial Audio for Apple Music and Apple Music Classical, and more.

William Shakespeare famously wrote extensively about places which he had never visited, so why shouldn’t composers do the same? Of the four pieces performed in this Spain-themed Prom, only one of the composers was Spanish - the rest were French, and at least one of them (namely Claude Debussy) had to rely on accounts of Spain from native dancers, artists, and musicians, as he had never set foot in the country.

Soprano Chen Reiss to Make Los Angeles Philharmonic Debut and Release All-Beethoven Recording
A house favourite at Vienna's Staatsoper, where she has sung over 120 performances in the past decade, Chen Reiss draws deep inspiration from the city that Beethoven called home. The Israeli soprano, praised by Gramophone for her 'supple, vernal lyric-coloratura', is set to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the composer's birth with a new recording of his concert arias and orchestral songs on the Onyx Classics label, titled Immortal Beloved.
