Point Foundation will present its Impact Award to Eric McCormack, one of the most beloved actors of TV, as well as film and stage. The award recognizes an individual making a significant impact on improving the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) plus allied community. In addition to his Emmy-winning work on "Will & Grace" (season 10 premiering October 4 on NBC), McCormack produces and stars in Netflix's popular sci-fi drama, "Travelers" (season 3 premieres this winter).He has appeared in numerous other TV series, films, as well as Broadway and Off-Broadway. McCormack was a vocal supporter of the legalization of same-sex marriage. He is also widely lauded for his advocacy and philanthropic work on behalf of organizations such as Stand Up 2 Cancer, Project Angel Food and the ASPCA.

Point Foundation Announces 36 New Higher Education Scholarships

Point Foundation (Point) is awarding new scholarships to 36 students who have demonstrated academic excellence and leadership in their communities, despite facing obstacles such as bullying and financial hardship. Point is the nation's largest scholarship-granting organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) students. These new scholarship recipients join 47 current undergraduate and graduate students for a total of 83 Point Scholars who will receive financial assistance and programmatic support for the 2015 2016 academic year.
