From England to New Zealand to Hong Kong, Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber-produced 2006 lavish revival of The Sound of Music finally made it to Manila, which officially held its gala performance last Friday, September 29, at The Theatre at Solaire and an after party at the Diamond Hotel. Last May, UK-based choreographer Jonny Bowles, who is also the resident children's director of the international touring company of the London Palladium production of The Sound of Music, visited Manila on a mission: whittle down 400 talented kids to 18 who auditioned for the roles of the von Trapp children.
