IndieWorks Announces BITE-SIZED BROADWAY- A Mini-Musical Podcast
IndieWorks Theatre Company has announced the first season of its new podcast, Bite-Sized Broadway, a Mini-Musical Podcast. The first season features ten 50-minute episodes that showcase fully-produced, digitally-orchestrated 'mini-musicals' followed by in-depth conversations with our 18 writers from around the globe. Writers will have the opportunity to share about their process, careers, and current and upcoming works. The first episode will premiere on Monday, October 5, with new episodes on the first and third Monday of each month.

Christopher Michaels directs a cast of 13, including Paul Aguirre*, Mary Albert, Henry Fin Berry, Greg Carter*, Sarah Chiu, Yvette Monique Clark*, Jianzi Colón-Soto, Daniel Moser*, Robyne Parrish*, Kevin Riddagh, Staci Stout, Ben Tostado*, and Forest VanDyke*. Sixteen performances will be staged on a varying scheduling at Theatre Row's Theatre One (formerly The Lion Theatre) 410 West 42nd Street in New York City from November 19-December 7, 2019. The Giant Hoax is recommended for ages six and up.

In 2008, Reverend Vernon Jackson's Religious Broadcasting Network in Lynchburg Va. presented 'The Gay No More Telethon'. The goal: raise money to turn as many homosexuals as possible straight by the rapture or the 2014 Winter Olympics. Whichever came first. But now with the trump administration, the Supreme Court and the GOP looking to undo several advances made by the LGBTQ community since then, Reverend Jackson has seen the error of his ways and is touring the country to apologize.

First up is the new documentary musical 45 Minutes from Coontown, which traces the history of black musical theatre and is the second installment in The Show Time! Trilogy; the season continues with Sex, Satire, and Song, an exhibit curated for Yale University; Diversity and the Birth of Broadway, a two-part lecture series for the Library of Congress; and concludes with the new musical revue *The Passing Show of 2019. UMC's 2019 season launched in March with the UMC Writers Lab*.
