Forty-five of Jonathan's plays have been produced at site-specific locations, schools, and theatres around the world including Actors Theatre of Louisville (Humana Festival), Milwaukee Rep (RepLab), the Samuel French Off-Off Broadway Play Festival (Festival Winner), Alternative Theatre Company (Off-Broadway), Warner Theatre (International Play Festival), Chance Theater, Mountain View Mausoleum, Pasadena Museum of History, and the LA County Arboretum. Jonathan is the Artistic Director of the multi Ovation Award-winning Unbound Productions and a creator of the perennially sold out Wicked Lit, History Lit, and Mystery Lit. These immersive theatre events have welcomed over 30,000 patrons to unique locations throughout Southern California. He is a five-time Finalist for the ATL Heideman Award, has been included in several Smith and Kraus Best 10-Minute Plays and Best Monologues collections, and has also been named a Finalist for the O'Neill National Playwrights Conference and the City Theatre National Short Play Award. Jonathan’s plays have been developed at the Great Plains Theatre Conference, The Huntington in San Marino, and the Antaeus Playwrights Lab. Chance Theater, Anaheim’s official resident theater company, will present a staged reading of a brand new play as part of the 2023 OTR New Works Series. Written by Jonathan Josephson, and directed by Chance Theater’s Artistic Director Oánh Nguyễn, this staged reading will be presented on Wednesday, September 20th at 7:30pm.

The unique competition began with open submissions in October, garnering 346 plays from around the world, and a unique adjudication process. The top 25 plays have been selected for publication in Stage It! 4: 10-Minute Plays. The book is released in conjunction with the Festival weekend, March 20-22, where many of the plays will be produced.

The Warner Theatre will present its 8th Annual International Playwrights Festival held in the Warner's Nancy Marine Studio Theatre October 11 and 12, 2019. The mission of the International Playwrights Festival is to recognize the work of emerging and established playwrights and to build a link between the playwrights, the theatre community and our audiences. The festival is a two-night celebration of new works by playwrights from across the country and around the globe. For the eighth year, 150 plays were accepted for consideration from across the United States and as far away as China and New Zealand. Eleven winners have been selected and one play will be invited to participate in the 2019 festival.

The result is an exceedingly entertaining evening of indoor-outdoor theatre in one of the spookiest venues in Southern California.
