Jonathan Hogan is an American actor with a career spanning over four decades. He was born on June 13, 1951, in Chicago, Illinois, and grew up in North Carolina. Hogan attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he studied drama.
Hogan made his Broadway debut in 1973 in the play "Otherwise Engaged." He went on to appear in several other Broadway productions, including "Comedians," "As You Like It," "The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial," and "Taking Steps." In 1985, Hogan was nominated for a Tony Award for his performance in "As Is," a play about the AIDS epidemic.
In addition to his work on Broadway, Hogan has also appeared in numerous off-Broadway productions. He was a member of the original cast of the play "The Boys in the Band" in 1968 and reprised his role in the 2018 Broadway revival. Other off-Broadway credits include "The Misanthrope," "The Cherry Orchard," and "The Normal Heart."
Hogan has also had a successful career in film and television. He made his film debut in 1976 in the movie "King Kong." He went on to appear in several other films, including "The House on Sorority Row," "Slap Shot," and "The Manhattan Project." On television, Hogan has appeared in a variety of shows, including "Law & Order," "The Good Wife," and "Gossip Girl."
In addition to his work in theater, film, and television, Hogan has also worked as a voice actor. He provided the voice of the character General Hawk in the animated series "G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero" in the 1980s.
Hogan has also worked as a director, both on and off-Broadway. He directed the off-Broadway production of "The Exonerated" in 2002 and the Broadway production of "The Homecoming" in 2007.
Hogan's most recent work includes a recurring role on the television series "The Blacklist" and a guest appearance on the show "Madam Secretary." He also appeared in the 2018 Broadway revival of "The Boys in the Band."
