Review: THE ADDAMS FAMILY at Cultural Arts Playhouse
Let's kick off the 2024 season with a review of the final show I attended in 2023! I had the pleasure of attending closing weekend of THE ADDAMS FAMILY, presented by Cultural Arts Playhouse this past November. Directed by Tony Frangipane, the production was bursting at the seams with vibrancy and new life breathed into classic characters that everyone knows and loves.

Boston Court Associate Artistic Director Margaret Shigeko Starbuck directs this co-production with Playwrights’ Arena featuring: David Huynh, Katie Kitani, Cindy Nguyen and Chelsea Yakura-Kurtz. Los Angeles New Play Project Celebrates 2nd Annual Award Recipients
Winning playwrights and producers of the LANPP 2022 grants came together to celebrate the four new plays to be produced in the coming year. Two of the four plays selected are authored by a single playwright, David Johann Kim. Kim's Pang Spa, in a site-specific production staged in Koreatown, will be premiered by Chalk repertory Theatre, a company with a long history of site-specific work.
Casting Announced For CM Performing Arts Center's MAN OF LA MANCHA
To celebrate the kick off of their 35th Anniversary as an organization, The CM Performing Arts Center will present a special limited engagement presentation of Man of La Mancha, directed in the style of their founder, Noel S. Ruiz. Man of La Mancha was the first show to be produced on the now aptly named Noel S. Ruiz Theatre stage.

The Dramatists Guild of America and the Dramatists Guild Institute will gather some of the community's most influential theatre makers, artistic directors, literary managers, television writers, educators, lawyers and advocates for a weekend of events in Los Angeles, featuring a Town Hall event titled 'The Future of New Play Production in Los Angeles.'
