UConn To Present Online Symposium REPRESENTING ALTERITY THROUGH PUPPETRY AND PERFORMING OBJECTS

The Ballard Institute and Museum of Puppetry and the University of Connecticut Puppets Arts Program, with the support of a UConn School of Fine Arts Anti-Racism Research Grant, are hosting a free international online symposium on systemic racism and the representation of foreigners and minorities in puppetry and allied art forms on April 9-10.

Turtle Shell Productions' 8-MINUTE MADNESS PLAYWRIGHT FESTIVAL OF 2009 is BACK for its sixth season, in our beautiful theater space in the heart of Times Square. We've received an overwhelming number of scripts from playwrights across the globe, and of these, 11 original works have been selected for the FESTIVAL, along with THE BEST OF - 9 of the best plays from the last 5 years. Each group will be presented as a separate performance. The show is based on Romain Gary's novel The Dance of Genghis Cohn, and will be directed by Turtle Shell Productions Artistic Director John W. Cooper.
