Turtle Shell Productions is extending a successful run of ?Summer Shorties ? Summ-Ar Not? under a new name, Summer Shorts Fall Briefs, 20 exciting original short plays, which are split between the adult presentation and the youth. The plays are written by innovative playwrights from across the country and internationally. The event has two separate nights of performances that cater to adults and children. Previews begin on September 25.

Turtle Shell Productions present The World Premiere of Pulitzer Prize winning author Bernard Malamud's The Assistant, directed by Elfin Vogel and adapted for the stage by Martin Zuckerman.
This new play tells a story of the colorful richness and depth of man's moral struggle through the trials of Morris Bober, a deli owner in 1940's Brooklyn as he humbly and steadfastly lives a loving, virtuous life amidst profound personal and economic challenges.

Turtle Shell Productions' 8-MINUTE MADNESS PLAYWRIGHT FESTIVAL OF 2009 is BACK for its sixth season, in our beautiful theater space in the heart of Times Square. We've received an overwhelming number of scripts from playwrights across the globe, and of these, 11 original works have been selected for the FESTIVAL, along with THE BEST OF - 9 of the best plays from the last 5 years. Each group will be presented as a separate performance.
THE FESTIVAL brings together directors, award-winning designers and members of Turtle Shell Productions' own in-house acting ensemble, The Terrapin Troupe.

Turtle Shell Productions is announcing the world premiere of new musical Fritz & Froyim, with book and lyrics by Norman Beim (Success) and music by Mark Barkan (writer for Nat King Cole, Vic Damone, Elvis Presley and Paul Anka) and Rolf Barnes (composer, conductor for Volpe). The show is based on Romain Gary's novel The Dance of Genghis Cohn, and will be directed by Turtle Shell Productions Artistic Director John W. Cooper.
