On August 24, Opera Philadelphia teams up with the East Passyunk Opera Project (ePOP) for Center City District's “Arts on Center Stage” in Dilworth Park. Opera singers will give a live concert in the heart of Center City, just outside City Hall.
Tickets For Opera Carolina's 73rd Season Are Now On Sale
Tickets for Opera Carolina's 2022/23 season are now on sale to the public. This season will explore iconic women in opera and focus on the power of opera by emphasizing HERstory. The season will open in October with Puccini's Tosca, continued in January 2023 with Porgy & Bess, and will conclude in April with Verdi's La traviata. All performances will be held at the Belk Theater.

American Lyric Theater has announced its return to live performances with a workshop performance of The Opposable Thumb by composer Jorge Sosa and librettist Julian Crouch. The Opposable Thumb was commissioned by American Lyric Theater under the auspices of the company's nationally acclaimed Composer Librettist Development Program. Based on various true accounts of the last two hundred years, this fascinating work questions whether mankind is superior to the animals that are contained behind the bars of a zoo's cages, or just another ape with an opposable thumb, and a trigger pulling finger.
WRTI Broadcasts Philadelphia Youth Orchestra Concerts Sundays In May

Lyric Opera of Kansas City continues its 2018-2019 season with Mozart's sophisticated comedy Cosi fan tutte March 16, 20, 22 and 24 at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts. The production will be sung in Italian with English subtitles.
BWW Review: THE MAGIC FLUTE at Opera Grand Rapids, Makes For a Magical Journey!
A little over a week ago I attended my first opera, Opera Grand Rapids' production of The Magic Flute, a fairy tale with the traditional fairytale themes of love and of good versus evil. The show starts with Prince Tamino, played by Dennis Shuman, alone in the woods fleeing a deadly serpent. He faints but is saved by three ladies played by Jessica Dold, Christine Amon, and Diane Schoff who were all very entertaining in their roles and had the audience laughing throughout the show.

A couple weekends ago, September 28th, I was fortunate enough to attend the season kick off for the 51st season of Opera Grand Rapids. They had performances from nine local Artist and a surprise from one of the vocally trained members of the office staff, who if you follow our twitter @BWW_Detroit, was featured in a short clip of her performance of 'He's Got the Whole World in His Hands'.
