Florida Studio Theatre Announces Winners Of Annual Youth Playwriting Competition
Florida Studio Theatre has announced the winning plays of this year's annual youth playwriting competition. Now in its 31st year, FST's WRITE A PLAY program is an arts-in-education initiative, providing students with the example, the inspiration, and the skills to write their own original plays. Over the course of the 2021-2022 academic year, FST received submissions from almost 4,600 playwrights.

Tiempo Muerto is a tragedy in three acts of the Puerto Rican farmer who was drowned by the social system that prevailed forty years ago, at the end of the 19th century and at the beginning of the 20th century. The play by Puerto Rican playwright Manuel Méndez Ballestar tells the story of misery and poverty during the sugarcane era in Puerto Rico, poor jíbaros with nothing to throw into the pot on the stove who focused more on economic needs that were more important than family morality.The family suffers from the policies and social system of the moment.

The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra announces the 2019 NJSO Edward T. Cone Composition Institute composers and their winning works. The composers include Dan Caputo (USC) with his work Liminal, Patrick O'Malley (USC) with his work Rest and Restless, Iv n Enrique Rodr guez (Juilliard) with his work A Metaphor for Power and Bora Yoon (Princeton) with her work The Encyclopedia of Winds.
Milanov Conducts Free HAPPY HOUR CONCERT Today
Now in its third year, Happy Hour concerts offer free, informal, after-work concerts performed by the Columbus Symphony, preceded by complimentary appetizers, a DJ in the theatre lobby, and a cash bar. Conducted by the CSO's new Music Director Rossen Milanov, the first Happy Hour concert of the 2015-16 season will be at the Ohio Theatre today, October 29, and will be in partnership with Earshot, The National Orchestral Composition Discovery Network, to present a live Composers' Competition. The CSO will perform four new music compositions from four emerging composers, and ask the audience to vote for their favorite. A professional jury will select an official winner of the competition.

Chef John Rivera Sedlar Debuts "O'Keeffe's Table," a Menu Dedicated to American Artist Georgia O'Keeffe
Chef John Rivera Sedlar announces the launch O'Keeffe's Table, a five course tasting menu inspired by and dedicated to the great American painter Georgia O'Keeffe. O'Keeffe's Table will be offered nightly during dinner hours from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at ELOISA Restaurant, which opened this spring in Santa Fe, NM. The 90-minute tasting menu includes five courses and must be ordered by the entire table. The menu costs $60 per person with the choice of two supplements: an apricot mignardise and/or mint tea for an additional five dollars each.
