Thriller Comes to the Possum Point Players' Stage January 31 through February 9, 2014
Possum Point Players brings the thriller Laura to their Possum Hall stage beginning Friday, January 31, 2014. Vera Caspary, Laura's novelist, playwright and screenwriter, wrote thrillers -- but not like any other author of her time, male or female. Her specialty was a specific type that she pioneered - the psycho thriller. Typically, thrillers focus on plot development as opposed to character development. They focus on an action arc as opposed to a psychological arc. But a successful psychological thriller does both, more or less equally. The suspense comes from the human interaction between characters who prey on each other's thoughts, trying either to confuse, destroy, or deceive.

Clear Space Theatre Company's AN AMERICAN CHRISTMAS CAROL to Open 11/29
The Clear Space Theatre Company of Rehoboth Beach is putting the finishing touches on AN AMERICAN CHRISTMAS CAROL in preparation for opening night on Friday, November 29th - directly following the Rehoboth Beach Christmas Tree Lighting. This year, Clear Space is presenting popular Charles Dickens' tale with a new and distinctly American slant, as it is relocated from London, England in 1843 to London, Kentucky in 1937 - toward the end of the Great Depression. With music by Clear Space Artistic Director Doug Yetter and lyrics by Michael Hulett, the production maintains all of the original characters as well as the themes we've all grown to love. Director and Production Set Designer Kevin Smith brings a fresh perspective to the traditional "old war horse" saga by adding much more "spirit," knowing that Dickens' intention was to write a ghost story which happens to occur on Christmas Eve, which this revitalized version cleverly delivers!
