Irish Rep Announces Extension Of THE O'CASEY CYCLE And May Events For The Sean O'Casey Season
Irish Repertory Theatre (Charlotte Moore, Artistic Director and Ciar n O'Reilly, Producing Director) announced today special events and programming for the month of May as part of The Sean O'Casey Season, celebrating 30 years of Irish Repertory Theatre. May's events will include a screening of the biographical film Under the Colored Cap by Sean O'Casey's daughter, Shivaun O'Casey; an original concert of songs from O'Casey's plays; and two free scholar-led panels about O'Casey's life that will be livestreamed on Facebook.
Artist Zijia Kong Will Work With Coronado High School
Ms. Kong is an internationally renowned dancer who has made significant contributions as an artist to concerts, performances and conferences in some of the world's most established and storied venues, including as a principal soloist at the 'Spring in Phoenix' Chinese New Year Gala in front of 1,500 spectators (Arizona Representative John Kavanagh and Chandler Mayor Kevin Hartke) at Phoenix, Arizona's Chandler Center for the Arts, where world famous artists have performed Grammy Award-winning La Marisoul and Kirov Ballet companies. Other leading venues where Ms. Kong has taken center stage include the Margaret Gisolo Theatre, Phoenix Art Museum, The Trunk Space, Edge Hill University and Tempe Center for the Arts. Consistently ranked as a top performer in her field, Ms. Kong has won numerous, highly competitive awards, including The Hope & Robert Heimann Award, one of Arizona State University's premier honors recognizing a student in Dance department who has demonstrated commitment to academic excellence, and The Honorable Choreography Prize and First Prize of Shenyang Conservatory of Music Competition 'Lu Yi Cup' in Shenyang, China in 2016, where winners are chosen based on five days of live performances by outside judges.

Therese (Elizabeth Olsen of 'Martha Marcy May Marlene'), a sexually repressed beautiful young woman, is trapped into a loveless marriage to her sickly cousin, Camille (Tom Felton of the 'Harry Potter' franchise), by her domineering aunt, Madame Raquin (two-time Oscar, Emmy and Golden Globe winner Jessica Lange). Therese spends her days confined behind the counter of a small shop and her evenings watching Madame play dominos with an eclectic group. After she meets her husband's alluring friend, Laurent (Oscar Isaac), she embarks on an illicit affair that leads to tragic consequences.
