On Sunday December 16 at 7:30pm, the Midland Cultural Centre is proud to present a rising star of American songwriting Joe Crookston in their 'Intimate Spaces' Concert Series. Named 2016 Folk Alliance International Artist-in-Residence and with his songs being made into films, Joe Crookston is becoming a staple in folk and roots music genres. Based in the city of Ithaca, New York state, he was recently signed to Tamulevich Artist Management in the company of longtime luminaries John Gorka and Peter Yarrow.

Featuring 10 tracks, including a cover of Jesse Winchester's “A Showman's Life,” the Alabama songwriter writes about friends he's lost, childhood memories, and the relationships he's experienced both as a son and a father on these deeply moving, literate songs.
