Cast Announced For MR. DICKENS AND HIS CAROL At Seattle Rep
Seattle Rep has announced the complete cast and creative team for the upcoming world-premiere holiday production, Mr. Dickens and His Carol to be directed by Braden Abraham, who recently announced that this will be his last production as the theater's Artistic Director.
Ovation Acquire U.S. Rights to TRAVEL MAN
Ovation, America's only arts network, has acquired the U.S. broadcast and digital rights for five series from All3Media. The deal includes Travel Man, which will debut on Ovation's AVOD service JOURNY and also air on Ovation's linear channel and on-demand service Ovation NOW. Other titles for Ovation TV and Ovation NOW include Stealing Van Gogh (1 x 60'), The KAWS Effect (1 x 30'), and the arts-themed reality series Fake or Fortune (14 x 60'), Antiques to the Rescue (3 x 60'). The announcement was made today by Scott Woodward, EVP Programming, Ovation.
UMS & Michigan Engineering Celebrate 2001: A Space Odyssey
In conjunction with the 50th Anniversary of Stanley Kubrick's influential 1968 masterpiece 2001: A Space Odyssey, the University Musical Society (UMS) and the University of Michigan's College of Engineering (Michigan Engineering) co-present a free campus-wide multimedia celebration of the film's socio-technical themes. The celebration, taking place September 21-27, 2018, will feature a free screening of the film with live orchestral and choral accompaniment, technology demonstrations, speakers, and panel discussions. SHREK THE MUSICAL, JR. Brings 'Big, Bright, Beautiful World' J's Performing Arts Space
The fairy tale misfit adventure, Shrek The Musical Jr., comes to life on the Dallas stage with The J's Performing Arts Space (JPAS) productions of the of the adaptation of the Oscar-winning DreamWorks Animation film. Shrek The Musical Jr. is comprised of two casts with actors ages 6 to 18. The Green Cast performs Thursday, March 23 at 7 p.m. andSunday, March 26 at 2 and 7 p.m.; the Blue Cast performs Thursday, March 30 at 7 p.m.; Saturday, April 1 at 8 p.m. and onSunday, April 2 at 2 p.m. All performances will take place in The J's Zale Auditorium at 7900 Northaven Road in Dallas. Attendees are encouraged to get involved in the show by dressing as their favorite fairytale character and purchasing a prop bag for audience interaction. Tickets are $18 for adults and $12 for children and seniors in advance. Tickets can be purchased online.
National Portrait Gallery to Present Leon Golub Portrait Exhibit, Today
Striking portraits of some of the twentieth century's most powerful leaders including Castro, Pinochet and Brezhnev by the American artist Leon Golub are to go on display at the National Portrait Gallery on 18 March, it was announced today (Monday 14 March.) They are being shown for the first time in the United Kingdom.
