The Handel and Haydn Society (H&H) Chorus and members of the Vocal Apprenticeship Program's (VAP) choruses-the Youth Chorus, Singers, Young Men's Chorus, and Young Women's Chamber Choir-perform a Holiday Sing on Saturday, December 14 at historic Great Hall in Faneuil Hall. This fun and participatory holiday celebration returns to the H&H calendar after a brief hiatus and will include some of the most beloved carols and music of the Yuletide season, sung a cappella and with brass accompaniment. Rich and infectious arrangements of 'Carol of the Bells,' 'Winter Wonderland,' and 'In dulci jubilo' are among the scheduled offerings.

The Handel and Haydn Society (H&H), led by Artistic Director Harry Christophers, opens a musical celebration of the holiday season with its 160th annual performances of George Frideric Handel's masterpiece Messiah, November 29-December 1, 2013, at Symphony Hall. The celebration continues with A Bach Christmas, an intimate program of Baroque music; and Holiday Sing, a participatory family program of carols and choral music for the season.

Associate Conductor and chorusmaster John Finney returns to once again lead Handel and Haydn Society in a holiday celebration of Bach's music. The Christmas Oratorio continues Handel and Haydn's holiday tradition of bringing the finest gems by Bach following the annual performances of Messiah. The Boston Globe described the 2011 Bach holiday concert as "a whirlwind sleigh ride that even Santa might envy" and in 2010 pronounced that "the music of Johann Sebastian Bach is nearly as crucial to Christmas as Santa Claus, Salvation Army bell-ringers, and eggnog."
