Dance Lab New York (DLNY) is halfway through its Lab Cycle in collaboration with The
Joyce Theater Foundation supporting female choreographers of color in ballet. Over the past two weeks, Amy Hall Garner and Preeti Vasudevan, have been exploring the classical and neoclassical ballet idioms with a company of eight professional dancers, supported by the DLNY Lab Cycle grant in space provided by The Joyce Theater Foundation. DLNY provided each of them with 30 hours of incubation, a stipend, eight paid professional dancers, a rehearsal director, insurances, and administrative support from DLNY staff and Founding Artistic Director, Josh Prince.

Tony Award-winner Victoria Clark will host "Backstage at Encores!," a Studio 5 at City Centerevent, on Monday, February 6 at 6:30 pm at City Center. Joining Clark for an informal conversation will be Encores! Artistic Director Jack Viertel, Tony Award-winning lyricist Sheldon Harnick and composer/arranger Jeanine Tesori. Studio Five events take place in the Barbara and David Zalaznick Studio at City Center, 130 West 56th Street (between 6th and 7th Avenues).

New York City Center will reopen following a historic renovation and modernization with a star-studded gala on October 25. The event will kick off a celebratory season of new and expanded programming, festivals, exhibits, a special commission, and performances by world-class dance and theater companies. The renovation, designed by Ennead Architects, LLP (formerly Polshek Partnership), has transformed the landmark building into a contemporary cultural center complete with modern amenities and enhanced historic details, from the mezzanine lobby's painted ceiling and murals to the auditorium's arabesque dome. City Center is located on 55th Street between 6th and 7th Avenues.

Pulitzer Prize-winning director James Lapine will moderate 'All About Collaboration,' a dialogue with Alex Timbers and Michael Friedman, the creative team behind Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson. Victoria Clark Hosts New 'Page to Stage' Series at NY City Center in '10-'11
New York City Center will present 'Musical Theater: From the Page to the Stage,' a new series curated and hosted by Tony Award-winning actress and master teacher Victoria Clark, on three Monday nights beginning October 18 and continuing on February 28 and May 16. The first program will feature Tony-nominated choreographer Christopher Gattelli and will focus on the choreographer's role in the creation of a new musical.
