The Kennedy Center Sets Additional IRELAND 100 Programming
From May 17-June 5, the Kennedy Center presents IRELAND 100: Celebrating a Century of Irish Arts and Culture, an international festival spanning three weeks and featuring more than 50 performances with the participation of more than 500 artists in venues across the Center. The comprehensive schedule of events highlights Ireland's rich cultural legacy and its major footprint in the fields of theater, literature, music, and dance. Taking place in the living memorial to President John F. Kennedy, the nation's most well-known Irish-American President and the first sitting President to visit Ireland, the festival is also part of a yearlong celebration at the Center marking the centennial of JFK's birth. Furthermore, IRELAND 100 is the centerpiece in the United States of the global commemoration of the 1916 Easter Rising, a historic event that led to Ireland's independence.
CORE to Present Series of One-Act Comedies ADULTS ONLY
The audaciously funny comic writer Dean Imperial is getting the royal treatment as CORE Artist Ensemble lavishes its attentions on him by producing an evening of his one-acts. 'Adults Only' -- seven one-act comedies by Imperial -- will have its world premiere at TBG Theatre, 312 West 36th Street, in a three-week engagement from Saturday February 6 at 8pm to Sunday February 21 at 3pm.

Ireland: Crossroads of Art and Design, 1690-1840, will open at the Art Institute of Chicago on St. Patrick's Day, today, March 17, 2015, with a special ribbon-cutting featuring bagpipes and local dignitaries. It will be the first major exhibition to showcase the decorative and fine arts of 18th century Ireland, bringing together more than 300 objects – many never before seen in public – lent by public and private collectors across North America. The exhibition, which continues through June 7, 2015, will provide an extraordinarily rich overview of Ireland's creative legacy. To add to the Gaelic atmosphere of the show, a temporary Irish pub will be created in the museum's Café Moderno where guests can hoist a beer after they visit the exhibition.

The cast will feature Brandon Singel as Oliver. Brandon of Harrison, NY, also starred as Winthrop in The Music Man here at WBT. Mr. Bumble will be played by John Egan, of Dobbs Ferry, a veteran Broadway performer who has starred in The Producers, The Little Mermaid, Sister Act, Nice Work If You Can Get It, to name a few. John Anthony Lopez will perform as Fagin, Lucy Braid as Nancy, Todd Ritch as The Artful Dodger, Brian Krinsky as Bill Sykes, and Regina Singel as Widow Corney.
