BWW Review: TITANIC (THE MUSICAL) at Barn Players
Barn Players production of TITANIC (The Musical) opened this past weekend at the Arts Asylum to full and appreciative audiences. TITANIC is a huge (pardon the play on words) Community Theater undertaking in all ways you might imagine it could be.
TITANIC (The Musical) was written by Maury Yeston and Peter Stone. It won five Tony Awards, including Best Musical. The BARN PLAYERS production directed by Kipp Simmons is similarly complex but in different ways.

BWW Review: ROCK YOU! CLOSES THE HEARTLAND MEN'S CHORUS SEASON AT THE FOLLY THEATER
ROCK YOU! A WILD RIDE THROUGH THE MUSIC OF QUEEN was presented by the Heartland Men's Chorus at the Folly Theater in Kansas City, on June 8 and 9, wrapping up the 31st season for the chorus. I have seen numerous shows by the chorus and in my opinion, this tribute takes the crown. Kathleen McGuire provided a fantastic arrangement for the men's chorus.
BWW Feature: KANSAS CITY OFFERS SPECIAL GIFTS FOR THAT SPECIAL SOMEONE ON VALENTINE'S DAY
Valentine's Day is just over a week away, and it's time to make plans for that special someone. A box of chocolates can make a good gift, but not very creative. You can send an expensive dozen roses, but after a few days they wilt and become are thrown away. Or you can give a gift that instead of becoming trash becomes a wonderful memory, tickets to live theatre.
BWW Review: CABARET at White Theatre
The place is 1930s Berlin during the fading years of the Weimar Republic before Adolf Hitler became Chancellor of Germany. The play is 'Cabaret,' the 1966 multiple Tony Award winning musical iteration of Christopher Isherwood's semi-autobiographical novel about the rise of the Nazis and libertine Europe performed at the Jewish Community Center's White Theatre.

BWW Review: Sassy, Sweet, Colorful, MSMT Launches Larger-Than-Life GUYS AND DOLLS
Part of the perennial appeal of Frank Loesser's Guys and Dolls lies in the larger-than-life aura of its Damon Runyonesque roots - its fantasy land of gangsters and dolls, Broadway in the Prohibition era, and memorable characters who sing, dance, and deliver wise-cracks. Maine State Music Theatre's new production, the fifth in the company's history, brings this classic to life with a vivid freshness that embraces both the grand framework of the story and the intimacy of its essential heart. Sweet, sassy, and colorful, soaring and ambitious, MSMT's second show of the 2017 season is breathtakingly daring in the way it utilizes all the company's resources to their fullest, all the while that it demonstrates to a new generation why Guys and Dolls both invented and broke the mold for American musical theatre.
