When I was a child I loved dinosaurs. I was determined to grow up and be a paleontologist, but after a tragic week at archeology camp, I discovered that I actually just really loved impersonating dinosaurs and that digging in the dirt was not as fun as I thought it would be. From that moment, a love of theater was discovered and I never looked back.
In school, I was always involved in the drama club. I performed in my first professional musical in a production of “Grease!” in 2002. I continued to perform professionally through high school and college with some of my favorite roles being: The Cat in the Hat (Seussical! the Musical), Captain Hammer (Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog), and Sparky (Plaid Tidings). During school, I had the opportunity to study acting and dance both at Ball State University in Indiana and at Tshwane University of Technology in South Africa. In 2011, I received a BFA in Acting with an emphasis in Musical Theater from Ball State. From there, it was just a decision of where to go next. I spent the next year working regional theaters before ultimately landing in New York for 6 years, then to my current home of New Orleans.
I continued to work on stage in these cities, playing such roles as Claudio (Much Ado About Nothing), Gaston (Beauty and the Beast), and Jack (The Importance of Being Earnest), but also discovered film and television. Since arriving in New York in 2012, I have been featured on 30 Rock, Gossip Girl, and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. I also played “Ryan McLaughlin” on Blue Bloods, and starred in “Pause and Reflect” the webseries.
While working on screen, I found another passion in modeling for my Special FX Fabricator wife, Jessica Detty, over at Detty Studios. She builds the costumes and I bring them to life.
Entertaining is my passion. No matter what platform I use or what medium I find, I will always be happiest performing. Thank you for taking the time to look at my website.
I hope you find something that entertains you.
