John DeFilippo is a New York-based actor from Queens.

Off-Broadway credits: Malvolio (Classical Theatre of Harlem, NY Times Critic’s Pick); The Last Night of the Oki Dog (Theatre Row/Broadway Bound Theatre Festival)

Regional/Touring: Macbeth, Taming of the Shrew (Cumberland Theatre); Much Ado About Nothing & Pericles (Hip to Hip Theatre Company); Into the Depp (Norwalk Conservatory); The Happy Journey… (Always Love Lucy)

NY Theatre: Sex V. Love, Gasp! (Dixon Place); As You Like It (Theatre 315); Two Gentlemen of Verona, Romeo and Juliet (Staten Island Shakespearean Theatre)

John directed Pickles, a new play, which premiered Off-Broadway at INTAR Theatre, and the Long Island premiere of Annie Baker’s Body Awareness (EastLine Theatre)

His projects have received nominations from the BroadwayWorld Off-Broadway, Baltimore and Long Island Awards, the AUDELCO Awards, and the New York Shakespeare Awards, with Malvolio winning Best Comedy in 2023.

John holds a BA from Queens College in Drama, and has studied at the William Esper Studio and Scott Freeman Studio, under Karen Chamberlain and Maria Dizzia, respectively.
