New York Int'l Children's Film Festival Announces Short Film Lineup
Oscar-qualifying New York Int'l Children's Film Festival announced the complete short film lineup for its 2019 event, which runs February 22-March 17 at theaters throughout New York: IFC Center, Scandinavia House, Quad Cinemas, SVA Theatre, Cinépolis Chelsea, Alamo Drafthouse and the Museum of the Moving Image. Established in 1997, the acclaimed Festival is the nation's largest for children and teens and will present new animated, live action, documentary and experimental shorts and features from 37 countries. In conjunction with the exhibition Latin America in Construction: Architecture 1955–1980, Learning from/in Latin America will expand on the exhibition's curatorial framework and further explore key positions, debates, and architectural activity arising from Mexico to Cuba and the Southern Cone over three decades of development between 1955 and the early 1980s.
The Academy Celebrates 40th Anniversary Of 'Young Frankenstein' With Mel Brooks
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will present a 40th anniversary screening of 'Young Frankenstein' with special guests Mel Brooks, Cloris Leachman, Teri Garr and executive producer Michael Gruskoff on Tuesday, September 9, at 7:30 p.m. at the Academy's Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills. Film historian Leonard Maltin will introduce the comedy classic and host a live onstage discussion with Brooks, Leachman, Garr and Gruskoff.

Cinedigm to Release GKIDS' TALES OF THE NIGHT on DVD 1/29
TALES OF THE NIGHT, a stunning new feature film by French filmmaker Michel Ocelot ("Kiriko and the Sorceress;" "Azur & Asmar"), will now be available to audiences of all ages at home. Through an agreement with the film's theatrical distributor, GKIDS, Cinedigm Entertainment Group (CEG) will release the English-language version of TALES OF THE NIGHT on January 29 on DVD/Blu-ray, preceded by an early cable VOD and digital release on January 8.
