Some of the Madonna's costumes and accessories from Evita are being auctioned off in London, along with other artifacts from the film adaptation, including pieces from 'Rainbow High' and handwritten 'Don't Cry For Me, Argentina' lyrics by Tim Rice. A costume worn by Julie Andrews in Victor/Victoria is also available.
Charlotte Symphony Presents 90th Birthday Concerts, March 11-12
The Charlotte Symphony will celebrate its 90th birthday with a concert led by Music Director Christopher Warren-Green, a live broadcast on WDAV 89.9, the launch of a free virtual archive, and an archival exhibit on the founding of the Symphony on display at the Belk Theater.

The Neighborhood House program of Christ Church Preservation Trust, a catalyst for the arts at historic Christ Church, presents five free world premiere performances of In Plain Air, a work in multiple movements by composers Nathan Davis and Phyllis Chen that marks the culmination of the International Contemporary Ensemble's year-long residency in celebration of Christ Church's new C.B. Fisk pipe organ, Opus 150. Performances will take place at Christ Church today, September 22 at 1pm, 3:30pm, and 6pm and on Sunday, September 23 at 3:30pm and 6pm. Movements employing Christ Church's historic bells, custom instruments, and itinerant musicians will convey audiences across the entire Christ Church campus before introducing them to Opus 150. Presented in partnership with FringeArts, all performances of In Plain Air will be free. Major support for In Plain Air has been provided by The Pew Center for Arts & Heritage.

Excerpts from Yunus Emre (1946), an oratorio composed by Ahmed Adnan Saygun, the most important Turkish classical music composer of the twentieth century, will be performed at Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage at Carnegie Hall at 8 PM tonight, October 17, 2015 as part of MidAtlantic Opera and Seton Hall University's co-production entitled A Prayer for Peace. This rarely-heard piece will be sung in Turkish by the 100-voice Seton Hall University choir.

The amateur photography of Rupert Potter, father of the celebrated children's book author and illustrator, Beatrix Potter, will be explored in a new display opening at the National Portrait Gallery to celebrate the centenary of his death. As well as two new acquisitions showing Beatrix Potter on holiday with her father, The World of Rupert Potter: Photographs of Beatrix, Millais and Friends will display portraits taken by Rupert Potter of close family friends, showing the circles within which he socialised and the influence this had on his daughter's life and work.
