Piano Recital With Yiannis Georgiou Comes to Rialto Theatre
The highly acclaimed Cypriot pianist Yiannis Georgiou will be presenting an exciting recital programme with distinctly different musical styles. In his recital at the Rialto Theatre in Limassol on the 17 March, the virtuoso soloist will be interpreting works by the great masters, Mozart, Debussy, Brahms and Rachmaninoff, in four varied groups, alongside works by Scarlatti and Scriabin. A musical journey through contrasting musical languages, landscapes and means of expression.
Combat Medic Releases Memoir, MY IRAQI FREEDOM
September 11, 2001 changed the world and changed the United States. Most of all, it changed the men and women who were sent to Iraq to remove Saddam Hussein and his brutal regime and to bring freedom to the Iraqi people under his rule. Author Brett John Bingham, a long-serving US serviceman, participated in Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) as a combat medic. 'My Iraqi Freedom' is based on his day to day journal of a year-long stint on the frontlines at the height of the war.
Museum of the Moving Image Announces 'Looking for Love' Exhibition
With a distinctly personal voice in independent cinema, filmmaker Ira Sachs explores the universal themes of love and desire, beginning with his touching debut The Delta to his forthcoming feature Keep the Lights On. From August 25 through September 4, 2012, Museum of the Moving Image will present Looking for Love: The Films of Ira Sachs, the first comprehensive New York retrospective of Sachs's work that includes all of his feature films and a selection of short films, each followed by a Pinewood Dialogue with Sachs in person. The series culminates on Tuesday, September 4, with a preview screening of his latest feature Keep the Lights On.
