Joey Donnelly is a theatre maker, educator, and musician. They currently serve as Assistant Director and instructor of embodied acting at Harvard University’s First Year Arts Program and as Adjunct Professor of Theatre and Speech at Wagner College. They are a member of the international mask and physical theatre company, Theatre Hotel Courage (THC). Comprised of musicians, dancers, and actors, THC features performers from across the globe, with Joey serving as the company’s single American participant. THC’s mission is to tell tragicomical stories in an empty space using mime, slapstick, live music, improvisation and poetry as an ode to the survival instinct of mankind, showing that in the darkest of situations the largest capacity for inventiveness, playfulness, and creativity arrives.

Up next: A Room with a View (devised) performing at the National Theatre of the Netherlands, The Hague; The Compagnie Theatre, Amsterdam; and street performances throughout Madrid. The piece aims to bring the mask back to its roots; street art for the people.
