After spending six months fundraising, Reboot Theatre Company is celebrating spring by unleashing the hysterically campy and delightfully dark cult classic LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS on the unsuspecting public. Award-winning director Harry Turpin (The Who's Tommy at SMT, Fly By Night) helms this floral fantasy with music direction by Joel Kurzynski (Fly By Night), running May 4-19, 2018 at Slate Theater (815 Seattle Blvd S). Meet the Cast of the Seattle Premiere of FLY BY NIGHT
Following last year's award-winning inaugural production (Seattle's first all-female 1776), Reboot rides again with the Seattle premiere of the indie rock fable FLY BY NIGHT, hot off its acclaimed Off-Broadway run at Playwrights Horizons. Conceived by Kim Rosenstock (99 Ways to f**k a Swan, Tigers Be Still) and written by musician and Broadway actor Will Connolly (Once), award-winning playwright Michael Mitnick, and Rosenstock, FLY BY NIGHT explores the journey of love from all its delectable angles.
Seattle Musical Theatre's Artistic Director Roy Arauz Resigns
After seven months as Seattle Musical Theatre's Artistic Director, Roy Arauz has resigned his position. Arauz was voted into this volunteer position by the Seattle Musical Theatre Board of Directors in July of 2014 and saw the company through Man of La Mancha, The Rocky Horror Show, and Fiddler on the Roof, and was instrumental in assembling the production team for A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, set to open in April 2015. During his tenure, he spearheaded and fundraised for a New Works Program at SMT, which will be a part of the 2015/2016 season. He is also the Founding Artistic Director of Arouet, a local company inspired by the work of Voltaire.
