As rumors grow about the potential construction of an enormous molasses tank that will be used to make liquor and gun powder for the war, so do the hopes for potential prosperity. But suddenly on an unusually warm January day, the tank bursts and two million gallons of molasses come crashing down around Anna and her family discovers that life can change in a moment. The music of MOLASSES IN JANUARY is performed in the traditional style of the Great American Song Book, similar to Fiddler on the Roof and Gypsy.

MOLASSES IN JANUARY, an original new musical about a struggling family of Italian immigrants who are literally swept up in the Boston Molasses disaster of 1919, will make its full Off-Broadway premiere on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 and have an open run in the Jerry Orbach Theatre at The Theater Center, located at 1627 Broadway. Written and composed by Francine Pellegrino and directed by Whitney Stone with musical direction by Michael Wittenburg, this spirited new musical will have its official opening on Thursday, May 24th at 5PM.

Broadway Associate Director Michael Bradshaw Flynn The Front Page, It's Only A Play leads a talented cast, including Broadway Alums Autumn Guzzardi 9 to 5, Escape to Margaritaville (Pre-Broadway Tour) and Danielle Sue Jordan Follies (w/Bernadette Peters), Cinderella and The Music Man (1st National Tours) in the 2004 Award-Winning play, Dog Sees God: Confessions of a Teenage Blockhead written by acclaimed Stage, TV and Film writer Bert V. Royal (Easy 'A' (w/Emma Stone), Recovery Road (ABC) . The play runs Feb. 2-4 9-11, 2018, at the Matthew Corozine Studio Theatre, located at 357 West 36th St., #202, New York, NY, just a few blocks from the heart of Time Square.
VIDEO: MOLASSES IN JANUARY Releases New Promoâ€"Only Two Performances Left

Molasses in January is a fun, new musical for all ages! Book, lyrics, and music by Francine Pellegrino, the recently workshopped show is being transferred to The Davenport Theatre Off Broadway. Director Whitney Stone will be returning to the production after directing it's two developmental workshops last fall at the Times Square Arts Center. Only two performances of the production remain: October 25th, and November 1st.
