2015 Innovative Theater Award Winners Announced!
On Monday, September 21, 2015 The Innovative Theatre Foundation, the organization who for the past 11 years has been dedicated to celebrating Off-Off-Broadway, announced the 2015 recipients at its annual event. Celebrating eleven years and thousands of nominees, the New York Innovative Theatre awards took place at Mason Hall at Baruch Performing Arts Center.

On Monday, July 20, 2015, The New York Innovative Theatre Foundation, the organization who for the past 11 years has been dedicated to celebrating Off-Off-Broadway, announced the 2015 nominees at its annual event, The IT Party. THE BULLPEN to Continue Off-Broadway Through the Summer
Eric Krebs (in association with The Fortune Society), is pleased to announce that due to popular demand, The Bullpen, the one-man - 18-character comedy - which The New York Times calls "wildly funny" and "a tour de force" by The Huffington Post, and was recently nominated by the Outer Critics Circle as "Outstanding Solo Performance" for 2015, will continue performances at The Playroom Theater (151 West 46th Street - just east of Broadway) through the summer.
THE BULLPEN to Celebrate One Year Off-Broadway; Closes This June
The Bullpen, the one-man, 18-character comedy, which was nominated by the Outer Critics Circle as "Outstanding Solo Performance" for 2015, will celebrate its one-year anniversary and end its successful run at The Playroom Theater (151 West 46th Street -- just east of Broadway) next month.

The Outer Critics Circle, the organization of writers covering New York theatre for out-of-town newspapers, national publications and other media beyond Broadway announced the nominees this morning for the 2014-15 season. The first major Broadway/Off-Broadway award nominees of the New York theater season, the organization is celebrating its 64th season of bestowing awards of excellence in the field of theater. The Outer Critics Circle is an association with members affiliated with more than ninety newspapers, magazines, radio and television stations, Internet, and theatre publications in America and abroad.

Several members of 'The Central Park Five,' the group of five young black and Latino youths falsely arrested and convicted in 1989 for the brutal beating and rape of a white woman in Central Park, attended the February 7 performance of The Bullpen, the one-man, 18-character comedy written and performed by Joe Assadourian, (now playing through March 21) at The Playroom Theater (151 West 46th Street - just east of Broadway). Raymond Santana, Kevin Richardson and Yusef Salam, three of the five members, participated in a talkback following the performance to talk about their cases, re-entry and life inside the prison system. Released from Otisville Correctional Institution in October of 2013 after serving 12 of his 25 year sentence for attempted murder, actor/writer Joe Assadourian went from the cage to the stage after discovering his theatrical ability while reluctantly participating in a workshop behind bars led by Off-Broadway solo-show actor/director Richard Hoehler. Developed by the duo over two years, both inside and outside the state prison system, The Bullpen premiered Off Broadway at The Playroom Theater (151 West 46thStreet - just east of Broadway) on June 22, 2014 for a strictly limited engagement. Due to popular demand, the show has enjoyed several extensions and continues performances into 2015.
